Our Primary Mission – Support a Cure for Diabetes in the Next 3 Years

New Generation Foundation was established in 2003 to support bold new initiatives that promote access to opportunity for young people. We have supported programs as diverse as a global online editorial cartoon contest to fight corruption, which robs young people of opportunity, and an air medical mission in southern Africa to improve the health of mothers and children, the most basic prerequisite for the pursuit of opportunity.

We are now focused on curing juvenile diabetes. We support what we believe to be the most promising near-term cure strategy yet developed – creating and implanting a living cell bio-artificial pancreas in diabetics (see graphic), without the use of harmful immunosuppression drugs. See recent media coverage. This development is based on NASA-derived technology discovered by physicist-astronaut Dr. Taylor Wang. The technology invented by Dr. Wang is based on the physics of fluid centering in microgravity discovered by him during a 1985 Shuttle mission. Dr. Wang's encapsulife technology has reversed diabetes in dogs and non-human primates.     Read more "Primary Mission"

The Squash Diabetes! Campaign

Squash Diabetes! was launched by the Georgetown University Women’s Squash Team, where a team member has successfully competed in the vigorous game of squash despite the health and metabolism challenges of Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes. Proceeds raised from Squash Diabetes! support the human trials team led by Dr. Wang.
